Ingredients:
Filling
- 400g stewed apples
- 2 tablespoons xylitol (or any low calorie sweetener/honey also works
- Optional: You can replace the sweetener by using 3-5 dates which you stew with the apples
Topping
- 30 grams almond flower
- ¼ cup desiccated coconut
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon xylitol (or any low calorie sweetener)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ tablespoon coconut oil, melted
Method:
- Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius
- For the filling:
- Place all ingredients in a pot, including ½ cup of water and simmer gently for 5 minutes
- Place the filling into a 22cm tart tin
- For the topping:
- Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl
- Add the coconut oil and stir to combine
- Sprinkle over the filling and bake in oven for 20-30 minutes or until topping is golden brown
- Serve warm and enjoy!
